Russell has helped many firms with setting strategy, especially on strategies that involve globalization or the use of analytics.  Russell founded the Global Leadership program at Kellogg, which provided executive education and was designed to guide executives on developing and executing global strategies. Russell has deep international experience and has led execuive programs in Asia, Latin America, and Europe on the topics of international business. Russell has specific interest and expertise in business in Latin American and the Middle East. Russell has also regularly taught at the Indian School of Business in India and the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration in Thailand, IESE in Spain, and the Amsterdam Institute of Finance in the Netherlands.

He also offers courses on the strategy of deploying analytics in the enterprise, including the Strategic IT Portfolio Management executive program and the Strategic Data-Driven Marketing program to selected clients.
